Have cracked or broken fireplace refractory panels? We have replaced thousands of “factory built” prefabricated firebox panels over the years!
The number one thing that goes south with a prefab fireplace is the the “refractory panels” or liners of the firebox. These high temperature panels protecting the metal “shell” of the firebox become cracked or broken with use. When these panels fail, for whatever reason, be it from over firing, (some gentlemen insist on always having a BIG, ROARING fire) or abuse, (folks most certainly toss their logs into a fire). When the panels become damaged 1) The fireplace no longer meets the manufacturer’s requirements for continued operation AND 2) Heat may be able to radiate beyond the fireplace and affect any nearby combustibles. Almost ALL manufacturers of these “disposable” fireplaces allow them to be installed to within 2″ of a non-fireproof material (WOOD!)
If your prefab fireplace is getting on in age and looks like some of of these examples call Seaside Sweep! We can bring your fireplace back into code and make it look new again!
